One of our shared responsibilities at The Crossing is SERVING the Church. When we volunteer to serve in a ministry, as well as extending a hand to those in need, we model the heart of Jesus Christ.
Each ministry area is made up of several different Volunteer Teams who serve on Sundays and during the week. Browse the listings below and fill out the contact form for the area in which you feel the Lord leading you to serve. We will put you in touch with that ministry leader who will contact you to discuss how you can begin serving.
In addition to the ministries listed below, there are many other ways to serve here at The Crossing. You can serve in the coffee bar serving coffee and snacks on Sunday morning, work with kids in kids worship, help as a CrossDog; dads who want to help serve in different areas of ministry with security, directing traffic and many other ways.
If you want to get plugged in here at The Crossing and have any questions about different areas of ministry please contact Kenny Smith.
If you are signing up as an adult volunteer 18 years or older for any of the opportunities below, please fill this out and we will send you a link to fill out the background check. Once the background check is completed they will send you a link to complete the protect my Ministry video.
Wednesday Night Youth
Help out with youth services, either Middle School (3:30-6:45 p.m.) or High School (6:30-8:15 p.m.)
This is an extremely important position. All you need is a friendly face and a great smile. Men, Women, College, High School Juniors, and Seniors are welcome to sign up. You will be greeting, passing out bulletins, helping visitors find seats, and helping in times of emergencies. Yes that's right, helping in times of emergencies. In the day and time which we live we make ourselves vulnerable without good ushers. We need ushers for medical emergencies, fire or bad weather evacuations and individual threat situations.
You could serve every Sunday or serve on a rotation depending on how many ushers we have. You would not miss your Sunday School Class, but may need to leave a little early to be at your post by 10:30 a.m. We would like an Usher at every door of the Worship Center and Ushers will have an assigned seat near their door to help anyone who comes in late or to deal with emergencies.
Worship Team/Praise Team
Who We Are:
The Praise Team is made up of singers who help lead the Sunday morning worship services each week. This group consists of both male and female singers who desire to lift their voices to the Lord.
The Praise Team meets every Wednesday from 5:45-6:30 p.m. for rehearsal in the Worship Center as well as attending the Worship Band rehearsal from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
What is Expected
A demonstrated passion to lead and to serve the Lord through music. The Worship Band members are regarded as servants, but also as worship leaders for the congregation.
An attitude of service towards the other members of the group as well as the congregation.
Due to the nature of the Praise Team a level of experience and training is required. However, reading music is not necessarily a requirement, but a definite plus!
Attending all rehearsals before Sunday morning Worship as well as any extra rehearsals that might be needed.
